Funny, how life works out sometimes. One day you are walking out on the streets of luck and feeling good, then you get a glimpse of something that makes you lose your way. Why are we all here anyway? Is anyone sure anymore? I see people struggle in life, lose their way, and give up some of the time. Weren’t we supposed to be resilient and full of wonder? How can it all just be up to the incredibly stupid choices of misguided souls? Say uncle. The benevolent being that is God has it all planned out right? Yes he does. But there is another side to that plan. You. The unfortunate thing about life is the consequential idea of personal choice. We abuse it, take it for granted and lose ourselves in the walk towards success and having it all. We forget to stop to tie our shoes or to throw the ball back to the kid that over shot his goals and dreams. Then walking around tripping over the laces of confusion, seeing the same landmarks we always do, adhering the detour signs, we end up right back where we started. So what now? Push the detour sign down and run full speed ahead. Pay no mind to the construction workers yelling at you from below their hardhats for being in a place that to most is off limits. Run past the orange and black tape, the yellow flashing lights warding off danger, and head for the other side. For all it is a huge risk and one not worth taking. Instead we wait for the road to be finished and paved so that we may walk along it safely and without consequence. So no making mistakes and no finding out what we missed. We waited like we were supposed to, and missed all of the unforeseen. Good job. There is nothing to be afraid of now. But just what was on the other side of it? Life is what we make of it. Personal choice or not, God will never give you something you can’t handle. It may seem like a lot, but He knows what will come of it. Now it is up to us to pick out the colors and does it go with the drapes? Who cares? Try something new. What’s the worst that can happen, having to repaint? Come on. The old saying goes, what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. Ah, truth in all its form. Find your wonder, your smiling heart throbbing with excitement and emotion uncontrolled by the smiles on your face. We only have one shot at life, and God has given us a pallet of colors to make the drab everydayness of our life come alive. Get a new canvas, start a new work of art. Not to close the eyes to your old ones, just frame them, so that you may stand back and admire them during the journey that is life. Take what inspiration you need from them and throw yourself into a new world full of wonder. Splash around and get soaked with the bright euphoria’s that on any given day will hopefully inspire another to pick up their dusty paint brush and begin their colorful journey down the road in the pursuit of finding everything that is wonder. Read this and put it down. Journey the rest of your days and forget the motivation, after all it’s just too complicated right now right? Just know that it will forever be that way until the day you pick up your brush too. Black and white is muted and blah. A fine start to the bordering lines we hold and use to guide our life. But always know that somewhere in your would of, could of, should of closet you had a responsibility to dust off the shelf holding the jar labeled ‘Dare to be Great’, and use it to keep the feeling of God alive. With out this we wither up and die just as the world would have us do. There is a reason for that if you must now. It is a big test to the inner wonder in us all. And just incase you missed the pun intended; your wonder is what will take you to all the places you need and should be. Forget what you are afraid of and take a leap of faith back into the welcoming arms of Jesus Christ, find your wonder and make it contagious to all that come in contact with you. We can’t change the world, but the world can change us if we let it. To be strong in yourself, and to find your wonder will be something the world can’t touch, but will feel. And with one wonder seeking moment at a time, we will come together in the name of the Lord our God and rise above the horizon to wake the weary and feed the hungry. Be you in all of the light and greatness God intended. Everything else will fall into place.
